According to Thompson, the survey's made to be a "call to action" for areas to enhance their infrastructures so that they promote healthy lifestyles.
"The actual American Health and fitness Index is two things: a stride of how wholesome a city area is today, and a call to action for urban and suburban leaders to design infrastructures which promote active lifestyles and lead to good health final results," said Thompson. "The goal would be to provide communities and citizens with resources that help all of them assess, respond and achieve a much better, healthier life."
